PRESS RELEASE: Vacancy in District 5 Aldermanic Seat

Vacancy in District 5 Aldermanic Seat

MENASHA, WI – January 7, 2020. Due to the resignation of District 5 Alderman, the City of Menasha Common Council will appoint a replacement alderman to fill a term to expire April 19, 2021. Interested candidates must be at least 18 years of age, must be a United States citizen, and must have resided within Aldermanic District 5 for at least 10 days. Qualified candidates should submit a resume and cover letter to the City of Menasha Clerk, 100 Main Street, Suite 200, Menasha, WI  54952 or dgaleazz@ci.menasha.wi.us by 4:00 p.m., on January 15, 2020. 

A Special Session of the Common Council will be held on January 20, 2020.  At this meeting, candidates for this position will be interviewed and asked to give a short statement to the Council.  The Council members will then cast their votes and a successor will be appointed to the position.  The candidate will be sworn into office immediately and will assume the role of District 5 Alderman at the 6:00 p.m. Council meeting to follow.
