Menasha Celebrates Opening of Province Terrace Trail

Recognizing the health and mobility benefits of trails, the City of Menasha has completed its second major trail connection in as many years. The extension of the Province Terrace Trail provides an off street trail connecting Barker Farm Park, Menasha Conservancy, Heckrodt Wetland Reserve, and Jefferson Park. Loop the Lake and the Fox Cities Trestle are just a short ride away on quiet city streets.

As demonstrated by the hugely successful Fox Cities-Friendship (Trestle) Trail and, more recently, the Loop the Little Lake system, trails are economic and tourism drivers. Hundreds of thousands of people visit these trails on an annual basis; some live in the area and walk or bike to the trail, while others are visitors coming from outside the area to experience this trail network.

The new trail extension, which will be dedicated as part of the Fox Cities Paper Trail, offers a safe option connecting the east and west sides of Menasha, bypassing busy thoroughfares and running through the scenic Menasha Conservancy.

The trail extension was funded in part by generous donations from the Fox Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau and the Bright Ideas Fund of the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region.
