Broad Street is now open after a two year construction project to completely rebuild both utility infrastructure and the street itself. The city received a $887,010 state/federal grant towards the $1.02 million dollar project constructed by Vinton Construction.
Being part of the Friendshjp Trail route, the project includes accommodations for bikes including bike lanes on the 300 block, and new sidewalks for the entire length. The project includes the addition of back-in angle parking in several locations throughout the project limits. Back-in angle parking will improve safety along the route for both cars and bicyclists eliminating cars backing into traffic.
Tutorials for the use of reverse angle parking can be found on the City of Menasha Department of Public Works Website, under the Street Construction tab.
Residents and visitors alike should enjoy the newly improved street whether driving, biking, or walking.
