COVID-19 Older Adult Resources
COVID-19 for Older Adults
COVID-19 is a new disease and we are still learning about it. We do know that it is spread very easily from person to person through respiratory droplets (when you cough, sneeze, talk, sing, etc.). We also know that older adults can be more likely to develop severe illness if they contract COVID-19, so it is important to take steps to protect yourself and stay healthy. Here are some things you can do to prevent contracting and potentially spreading COVID-19:
Stay home if you have ANY symptoms of illness. Some symptoms of COVID-19 include:
-Fever or chills
-Shortness of breath
-New loss of taste or smell
-Muscle or body aches
Wear a face covering whenever you are outside your home and when other people are present. Make sure your face covering covers both your nose and mouth.
Do not gather in large groups. It is recommended to keep gatherings to fewer than 10 people.
Stay six (6) feet away from people who do not live with you.
Wash your hands well and often.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
