The Senior Chatter Monthly Newsletter

"The Chatter" is the monthlty newsletter from the Menasha Senior Center and the Neenah-Menasha YMCA.  The Chatter contains contains all that Acitve Older Adults need to know about the Menasha Senior Center, including upcoming events, ongoing programs and classes, as well as services offered
through the Center and througout the community.

From The March issue of "The Chatter" :

Buddies & Belly Laughs

Some of my swimming pals refer to endorphins (peptides that help induce feelings of well-being), as "endolphins".  Exercise, whether on land or in water, is probably the most commonly-know generator of endorphins, but research shows that laughter can also boost these beneficial bio chemicals.  A 2001 Oxford University study found that  the physical exertion of a good belly laugh among friends exhausts us so much that we actually produce endorphins. No wonder I've often heard my mother say "Laughter is the best medicine!"
