The Menasha Senior Center, in downtown Menasha, warmly welcomes any adult 55+ to participate in the many activities we offer. There is no membership fee or residency restrictions.

Mission Statement:
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life of older adults by providing educational, recreational, social, and wellness programs and to meet these needs as requested by the community.


 

Class Fees:  Activity punch cards available at the center.  14 Class punch card for $10.50.  21 Class punch card for $21.00

Line dancing Class:
Beginner: Monday and Wednesday mornings from
9-9:30am. $.50 Menasha resident; $1.00 non-resident, plus instructor fee.

Intermediate/Advaced: Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:30-10:30am . $.50 Menasha resident; $1.00 non-resident, plus instructor fee.

Breakfast for Your Brain:

Pump up your brain with some mental aerobics!  Come enjoy a light breakfast provided by Island Shores of Neenah, and get your weekly dose of brain fitness at the same time.  Class meets every Tuesday from 8:30-9:30AM.  .75/class.  Class is eligible for fee payment using the MSC punch card.


Bingo:

Monthly bingo parties. Watch newsletter for times.

Card games:
Men's Sheepshead - Mondays, 12:30 - 4:00pm (not for beginners)
Penny Ante Poker-Tuesdays at 12:30,
Texas Hold'em -Wednesdays 12:30pm (beginners welcome)(Sept - May) Bridge - Thursdays, 1:00-4:00pm (not for beginners)
Cribbage - Thursdays at 12:30, Hand & Foot- Fridays at 12:30.

Computer Lab:
Computers, with immediate access to the Internet, are available at the center. They can be used by any senior between the hours of 8am-4pm (except Wed. afternooons). There is no charge for walk-ins, but a donation is encouraged. There will be a $.10 per a copy charge for all printed material generated from computer use.


Computer classes: One on one computer instruction for beginners  is available each Monday and Wednesday.  Cost: $15.00 for 4  one hour sessions.


Craft classes:
Monthly art and craft classes are offered at low cost to participants.  Check the "Current Events" tab to see what classes are being offered in the coming weeks and months!



Greeting Card Class:
Come and create one-of-a kind greeting cards.  Seasonal offerings taught each month on a make and take basis.  Cost: $3.00/class.

Class meets the 4th Monday of each month.

Presentations:
Offered monthly covering many topics of interest to seniors (i.e.: legal issues, hearing loss, prescription costs, etc.) Donation baisis.

Health Screenings:
Blood pressure is taken once a month at the center by the Menasha Health Department (the third Friday from 10:30am-12:00 noon ;

Menasha Health Department's 60 Plus Health Program: (i.e.: cholesterol, urine, osteoporosis, depression, skin cancer, blood sugar).

VNA foot care clinics: are also offered twice a month. Appointments are required by calling 727-5555.

Trips:
One day trips are scheduled throughout the year. Call and ask for a trip brochure.

Parties & Luncheons:

The seasons and holidays are celebrated each month with luncheons with include special meals and activities.  Check the "Current Events" tab to see what we have planned!

 

Newsletter:
"The Senior Chatter", Menasha Senior Center’s monthly newsletter, is available for only $5.00 a year via ground mail. It offers a list of activities for the month as well as fun, interesting and informative reading material.

ADVOCAP meal:
The Menasha Senior Center is a site for the Winnebago Co. nutrition program's noon meals offered to seniors 60 yrs and older. There is no charge but a suggested donation of at least $3.50. Contact MSC office for a calendar.

Note:

-must call 725-6323 24 hrs. in advance to make reservation or cancellations.

-meal is served at 11:20am

-free transportation to and from MenashaSeniorCenter for lunch only is available; call to inquire

Benefit Specialist:
The Winnebago Co. Benefit Specialist visits the Menasha Senior Center the first Tuesday of the month from 10:00-11:30am. She is available to assist you with any public benefit program.

Leave a legacy...

The Menasha Senior Center's Memorial Fund was established to accept donation made In memory of...In honor of...In appreciation of...someone you wish to acknowledge. And it will also accept funds as Birthday celebration for...or Anniversary celebration for... These funds are used for long-term purchases that will enhance the center and that will benefit all seniors. (funds contributed caqn be earmarked for specific use if so desired). For furthere information, please contact Jean Wollerman at 967-3530.

The center staff will assist in identifying a local agency or organization that may help you with your needs.
