Auxiliary Police Officer Position

 

Position:
The Auxiliary Police Officer is a civilian, non-sworn position of the Menasha Police Department.
The position is responsible for traffic direction, providing security at community functions, park patrol, parade duties, emergency services, sponsoring local events and assisting with bike patrol and the bike auction. This position allows significant interaction between the police and the community and therefore requires applicants to be of high moral character.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid Wisconsin Driver’s license or be able to obtain one and maintain it during the time of hire.
  • Must not have any felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Must be of sound moral character.
  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
  • Willingness to work both paid and non-paid assignments.
  • Attend meetings twice a month.
