Building Inspector/Housing Specialist

This Building Inspector/Housing Specialist is responsible for receiving and processing building permit applications, reviewing plans for conformance with code requirements, reviewing plans for driveways, accessory buildings, and new dwellings for conformance with zoning requirements.  An ideal candidate for this position will illustrate strong communication skills, extensive interaction with contractors, homeowners and housing program applicants.  Reporting directly to the Director of Community Development, this position will require extensive interaction with contractors, homeowners and housing program applicants.  A High School diploma, or equivalent, a minimum of three years’ experience working in in the construction trades or related fields, and two years of building inspection experience, or an equivalent combination, is required.  Commercial credentials a plus. 

Salary Range:  $48,801 - $58,412, along with an attractive benefit package.

WATER PLANT OPERATOR

 

Menasha Utilities is accepting applications for the position of Water Plant Operator.  Menasha Utilities is a Wisconsin municipal utility serving over 9,100 electric customers in a community of 17,437. 

The Water Plant Operator position involves responsibility for the operation of water pumping, purification, and related equipment, and for making minor repairs and adjustments to equipment, as required.  Work includes inspection and operation of electrical control boards, motors, pumps, meters, and related equipment.  Work is performed with some latitude for independent judgment and action, and is reviewed by superiors through observation and results obtained.

Controls pressure and flow of water in the distribution system from HMI data; maintains steady water pressure; operates, oils, and adjusts pumps and machinery.

Starts and stops pumps; regulates valves and observes flow dials; reads gauges, and records information shown.

Draws samples of water for test and analysis; adds chemicals to water system in accordance with prescribed standards; washes filters periodically.

Conducts visual inspections of working apparatus and grounds; performs preventive maintenance on equipment; performs custodial work in the cleaning and maintenance of facilities and grounds; paints facilities and equipment as assigned; operates emergency generators and emergency diesel-driven high-lift pumps.

Salary Range:  $25.07-$30.47

WATER PLANT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN/RELIEF OPERATOR

 

Menasha Utilities is accepting applications for the position of Water Plant Maintenance Technician/Relief Operator.  Menasha Utilities is a Wisconsin municipal utility serving over 9,100 electric customers in a community of 17,437. 

Work involves installation, trouble shooting, maintenance, and computer interfacing of wiring, lighting, electrical and pneumatic recordinginstruments, electrical controls for pumps, chemical feeders, mixers, detectors, analyzers, programmable controllers, filters, and computers.  Work also involves climbing of water towers for cleaning, maintenance, and repair of cathodic protection and safety lighting.

Work involves responsibility for the performance of a variety of repair, maintenance, and operating tasks in maintaining the efficient operation of water pumping and purification equipment and machinery. Work assignments may arise as a result of breakdowns in the Plant, from inspections of operating conditions of the Plant, preventive maintenance tasks or specific instructions from Foreman.

Work includes performing the duties of Water Plant Operator on a relief basis.

Salary Range:  $23.36-$26.29

RELIEF COMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN

RELIEF COMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN – MENASHA POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

Position Duties/Requirements

Answering non-emergency phone lines, enter info into Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, transcribe recorded officer report dictation, perform other general clerical and office tasks, handle lobby patrons, assist officers and other employees as needed, monitor building security system, operate TIME System computer.

 

Qualifications

 

U.S. Citizen; Minimum age – 18; High school diploma; Ability to keyboard/type 40+ words per minute; No felony convictions; An ability to prepare and maintain accurate and complete reports; An ability to work cooperatively with officers, other civilian staff and members of the public; A working knowledge of business English and spelling; An ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instruction; An ability to learn and operate a variety of office machines, including various computer systems, i.e. TIME System, Winnebago County Records Management System.

 

This position fills vacancies created when full-time employees are on vacation, floating holiday or sick.  The vacancies may be 6a-2p, 2p-10p or 10p-6a.  These shifts may occur during the week, weekends or on holidays.  The current pay for this position is $14.98/hour.

Tiny-Tots Children’s Program Instructor-Substitutes

Tiny-Tots Children’s Program Instructor-Substitutes Needed

The City of Menasha’s Park & Rec department is looking for subs to assist with the Tiny Tots Children’s Program.

This is a call-in-as needed position. As a sub you will be able to take the lesson plan and conduct a children’s program consisting of games, music, story time and arts & crafts.  Helping them develop skills such as teamwork and social interaction.  The class is for 3 ½ to 5 year old children.  Class is held in the mornings, Monday-Thursday (12-14 hours per week) at the Memorial Building in Smith Park. Spring and Fall sessions offered. Candidates must demonstrate initiative and good oral communication skills.  Prior teaching experience and/or training are preferred.

UMPIRES WANTED!

 

The City of Menasha is looking for Umpires for the Adult Softball League!

Umpires are needed for games on Thursday and Sunday nights from early May through mid-August at Jefferson Park.  Experience is helpful, but not required.  One umpire needed per field.  Starting pay is $16.70 per game.  Open application period, apply anytime throughout the year.  For further information, contact the Park & Rec Department at 920-967-3640.
