Children’s Program Instructor for Tiny-Tots

Children’s Program Instructor for Tiny-Tots-Plan and conduct a children’s program consisting of games, music, story time and arts & crafts.  Helping them develop skills such as teamwork and social interaction.  The class is for 3 ½ to 5 year old children.  Class is held in the mornings, Monday-Thursday (12-14 hours per week) at the Memorial Building in Smith Park. Spring and Fall sessions offered.   Candidates must demonstrate initiative and good oral communication skills.  Prior teaching experience and/or training are preferred.

The award-winning Elisha D. Smith Public Library in Menasha seeks a creative and innovative full-time librarian to join our talented staff.  The ideal candidate will embrace our vision of a library that enhances the quality of life in our diverse community through exceptional customer service, a vibrant collection, innovative technology, and responsiveness to the people we serve.

This position staffs a busy reference desk, builds the collection, develops a variety of adult programming, guides patrons in the use of new technology, and coordinates the library’s art wall and display cases.  Success in this position requires sound judgment, a willingness to adapt to changing community needs, the ability to work well independently and as part of a team, a capacity to seek out and maintain strong partnerships in the community, and a commitment to professional growth. 

This position includes regular nights and weekends.  An MLS or an MLS-in progress is required.  The current wage for this full-time position is $23/hour and includes a generous benefits package.

Menasha is one of the Fox Cities, a metropolitan area of 367,516 residents, which features a performing arts center, two universities and a technical college, and the largest mall in the state along with many local shops, bike trails, nearby state parks, and many festivals.  Menasha is surrounded by the beautiful and historic waterways of the Fox River, Lake Winnebago, the Menasha Canal, and Little Lake Buttes des Morts and has a nature conservancy and a wetland reserve.

Seasonal Park Laborer

Long Term Seasonal (May- Oct 31) Park Laborer

The City of Menasha is accepting applications for a long term seasonal (May- October 31) Park Laborer. This is a manual labor position responsible for many aspects of the maintenance and operations of the Department of Parks, Forestry, and Cemeteries. Primary duties include a variety of manual and semi-skilled park, forestry and cemetery maintenance tasks and related work.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications of Position:

. High school diploma or equivalent

. Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment including but not limited to: mowers, sweepers, pickup trucks, tractors, chain saws, and other power tools.

. Working knowledge of the practices and principles of Park maintenance including but not limited to turf care, cleaning of shelter and restrooms, athletic facilities, and playground equipment.

-Must be 18 years of age or older (perform a variety of park maintenance duties such as mowing, string trimming, litter control, cleaning restrooms/shelters, ball diamond prep, etc.). Valid driver's license required.

 

Hours are typically 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. daily.

Starting rate is $11.00per hour.

Seasonal Part Time Vacancies:

Summer Park and Recreation

The City of Menasha Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for summer employment.  A limited number of openings are expected at the swimming pool, summer recreation programs and in park maintenance.

 

Swimming Pool – Water Safety Instructors (WSI), Certified Lifeguards, Attendants and Concession workers.  First-aid and Pro-CPR Certification required prior to work.  WSI class reimbursement available.  Hours per week vary by position.  Pool is open for public swim from 1:00-5:00pm and 6:15-7:45pm daily.  When in session, lessons are from 9:20am-12:15pm.  Instructors/Guards can work 30+ hours per week.  Other positions may be less than that.

 

Recreation - Playground leaders, instructors for gymnastics, baseball, kickball and tennis.  Specific activity experience is helpful, but not required.  First-aid and CPR certification is desirable.  Hours vary, weekdays approximately from 9:00am-3:00pm.  Occasional evening hours

 

Parks - Park Laborers must be 18 years of age or older (perform a variety of park maintenance duties such as mowing, string trimming, litter control, cleaning restrooms/shelters, ball diamond prep, etc.).  Valid driver’s license required. Hours are typically 7:00am-3:00pm daily.
