Entry Fee

A minimum of half the Entry Fee ($248 for Men's leagues and $180 for Coed Leagues) is due along with a completed registration form and roster (initialed by each player) during announced registration period.  Entry fee is non-refundable, but does guarantee your team spot in the league.

Team Rosters/Participation Agreement:
The minimum roster size is 14, the maximum is 20. A minumum of half the Entry Fee must be submitted at time of registration. Registration will be denied unless a minimum 14-player roster/participation agreement (fully completed) and half of Entry Fee are submitted at time of registration.

Remainder of Entry Fee must be paid no later than one week prior to league play beginning.  Sunday and Monday night league deadline: Monday, April 26, 2010, Thursday night league deadline: Thursday, April 29, 2010Failure to have all completed paperwork and fees to the MPRD office by this deadline will result in game forfeiture until all missing and/or incomplete information is receveid.

Any player may be added until Friday, June 4, 2010 (no matter where the player lives).  All players' must read and sign the roster/participation agreement form before the captain registeres his/her team.  Forging of signatures will not be tolerated!

League Class Levels:
Teams are urged to make a realistic assessment of the overall skill of their team and register in the appropriate league! Class levels are based on a scale of A-D.

2009 League Champions of a less competitive league will be moved to a more competitive league on the same night if it becomes necessary to accommodate another team for any reason.

Captain's Meeting:
Thursday, April 15, 2010
at 6:15 PM. at the Memorial Building (640 Keyes Street) for Men's teams and 7:00 PM for Coed teams.

Game Schedules:
Will be distributed at the captain's meeting, unless late registrations come in. Two copies per team. Schedules will be mailed to teams not attending the captain's meeting.

Reserving Fields for Practice:
Reservations for city ball diamonds are taken at the Park and Recreation office, second floor, City Hall. Reservations are limited to two-hour segments with no more than two practices per two-week period. There is no charge for reservations; however, a manger or player must pick up official reservation card in order to reserve a diamond. Practice availability will be based on field conditions.   Call (920) 967-3640 for diamond availability.

Playing Unregistered Players:
The player will be suspended for two games and team will receive a one-game forfeit of a future game or past game if no games remain. Future violations could bring a complete team suspension from present or future league play.

Bats and Balls for 2010: All bats used for play in any Menasha league must have a small "approved" sticker on it. Bring your bats to the Captain's meeting for sticker placement. Other dates/times for sticker placement will be held at the MPRD office (2nd floor, City Hall) Thursdays, April 22 and April 29 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Bats will be limited to a 1.20 BPF (Bat Performance Factor). BPF is marked on new bats. New bats should not exceed 1.20 BPF and national softball organizations (ASA, USSSA) support a BPF limit. A lengthy list of approved bats can be found at www.asasoftball.com under Equipment Certification. In rare cases a bat with a 2000 or 2004 ASA certification mark may now be banned. To to the ASA website or stop by the MPRD office to check on a bat before you commit to purchasing it.  A restricted flight .40 Core Poly Ball will again be used.

League Rules:
Pick up a copy of the league rules when returning your Entry Fee and roster. Rule modifications may be considered at the Captain's and Umpire's meeting. Rules are subject to change at anytime. Captains are responsible for briefing their players on the league rules.
