Where do I get a sign permit and what are the costs involved?

In most cases, sign permits can be obtained directly from the Department of Community Development. If your project is located in any of Menasha's historic districts, please contact us at 967-3652 or e-mail for submission information. Sign permit fees are $25 plus $.10/square foot. Please see our sign ordinance for specific information.

Can I see a plot map/air photo of my property?

This information can be found (for Winnebago County residents) on the Winnebago County website, or (for Calumet County residents) on the Calumet County website.

The Winnebago County website allows you to search by address, see parcel information, and even look at historic air photos and find out which aldermanic district you are in!

The Calumet County website features some of the same information contained in the Winnebago County website, but also contains a handy interactive measuring tool.

Can the city locate property lines for me?

Menasha does not have available certified staff to locate property lines. The best and most accurate way to do this is to contact a land surveyor.

I have been thinking about opening a home-based business. Is this allowed? Yes, home-based businesses are allowed with a few common-sense regulations found in Title 13, Article G. See our business resources section for additional start-up help!
How do I submit a proposal for Plan Commission Review? See our Submission Guidelines page.
