The City of Menasha Attorney is responsible for representing the City in all legal matters. This includes Civil Litigation in which the City is a party, as well as prosecuting City of Menasha Ordinance violations. A specific listing of major duties and responsibilities is contained in Sec. 2-3-4 of the Menasha Code of Ordinances and in s. 62.09(12) Wis. Stats.
The City Attorney must be licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin, have 5-8 years of experience in municipal law or trial work.
Specific items of interest to the general public for the City Attorney are City forfeiture actions, claims against or in favor of the City, contracts involving the City and questions regarding City ordinances.
